Adoption Guidelines

If you’ve fallen in love with a photo of one of our rescue pets and you have a space in your home for another fur kid, you might want to adopt. Before you make any decisions about adopting, there are a few things we’d like you to know about how we work.

All our pets will be desexed, microchipped, vaccinated twice, worm (including heart worm) and flea treated BEFORE they leave our care. Kittens are ready at 8 weeks, puppies at 10. Cats who have come to us that have been outdoor cats will have been tested for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia. Dogs over 6 months will have been tested for Heart Worm and treated if positive. When you adopt a pet from us and have paid the adoption fee, your new family member goes home with you on a two week trial. If you decide during that two weeks that things aren’t going right, then you can return the pet to us and you’ll have a refund minus $20 admin fee or if you like, we can exchange pets until you find the one that fits your environment.

This basically means when you pay your adoption fee, you’re paying a very reduced rate for all the vetwork and the pet comes free. Your own vet might charge you close to $400 for all this work (girls are more expensive than boys) but the most you’ll pay for an adoption fee is $180 for a kitten or cat and $400 for a puppy or adult dog.

What a bargain price for your new best friend!!

To save you time and, sometimes disappointment, there are a few notes to read before you express interest in a pet:
